Tennessee Titans safety Bernard Pollard tweeted Wednesday that he was fined $42,000 by the NFL for his hit on Andre Johnson last Sunday that resulted in a concussion for the Houston Texans receiver.
So @nfl said I did “everything right” but 42k later I still get fined. Wow! It’s called football but they want 2 hand touch. #TitanUp#

A league source confirmed to ESPN Senior NFL Insider Chris Mortensen that Pollard was fined $42,000. The source says that Pollard was fined for hitting a defenseless receiver in the head with with his shoulder. A penalty flag wasn’t thrown on the play, in which Pollard turned his head out of the way so it wouldn’t be a helmet-to-helmet hit.
