Tigers' Avila Leaves Game After Concussion
The Detroit Tigers may be without the services of their catcher Alex Avila for a few games. Avila was hit in the head with a bat by Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz when Ortiz was following through on his swing. He left the game.
Here is the quote from Tigers' manager Brad Ausmus
Right now, were not really sure on the status, Ausmus said. Theyre calling it a mild concussion, mild to the extent that they think hell be fine tomorrow. That being said, he wont play tomorrow, regardless. But they do think hes going to be fine tomorrow.
