The Effect of Antonio Morrison's Arrest
You've probably heard most of the story by now. Police say that UF linebacker Antonio Morrison, 19, punched a bouncer at Gainesvilles Kava Lounge on Sunday after refusing to pay the cover charge.
Around 2 a.m., Morrison allegedly cut the line, walked up to the bouncer and began arguing.
Dont you know who I am? Im a UF football player, he said, according to the report. Im Antonio!
When the bouncer made it clear Morrison would have to pay full price, Morrison allegedly punched him in the head and left. He was arrested early Sunday morning on campus on a charge of simple battery.
After being questioned by police, telling them he didn't remember much because he was drunk, Morrison was released. UF football spokesman Steve McClain said Will Muschamp was aware of the situation and is handling it.
Muschamps decision could have an impact on the Gators defensively this fall because Morrison was slated to start at middle linebacker following spring practices.

In all likelihood, Morrison wont be suspended for anything more than one game. Whether or not the incident will lead him into Muschamps dog house is another story, but the odds are that if he can help the team on the field, Muschamp wont limit his playing time.
Hell probably serve his punishment, (hopefully) learn his lesson and return to the way things were on the field. College is a time for kids to mature, and this may be the first step in Morrison learning how to balance work and play just a little bit better.
