Texans’ Place Danieal Manning On IR
As of Monday, Texans safety Danieal Manning was still awaiting word on the severity of the leg injury he suffered against the Rams last weekend.
Reports at the time indicated that Manning would miss up to two months with a fractured fibula, but, as it turns out, Manning will be out a little bit longer. The team announced Wednesday that they have placed Manning on season-ending injured reserve.
The loss of Manning leaves Shiloh Keo to start alongside Ed Reed at safety, which will not be a good thing for a Texans defense waiting to see Reed resemble the player he once was in Baltimore.
Manning is under contract for next season for a base salary of $4.5 million, although the remainder of this season will probably have to play out before we have a clear idea about how much turnover there will be in Houston.
