Myers, Odorizzi Set To Return To Kansas City
After a 4-3 homestand to begin the season the Rays will head to Kauffman Stadium to face the Kansas City Royals tonight.
So what's the news here? A couple of Rays players that were traded to the team in the James Shields blockbuster will face their old team, and for Odorizzi, it will be the first time he faces his former team and the first time he returns to Kauffman Stadium since the move.
Wil Myers returns as the reigning AL Rookie of the Year and there will definitely be discussion about both him and Odorizzi throughout the three-game series as James Shields will sit across the field an impending free agent.
Though the Royals are pegged to be a playoff-contended in the AL Central, the team's front office will definitely face some wrath from the fans if James Shields doesn't lead the Royals to at least one playoff appearance before departing. After all, the team currently has the longest playoff drought in MLB, as it hasn't played in the postseason since 1985.
