Rays Having Early Success On The Road
The Rays are off to a 7-5 start, good for first in what is speculated to be a highly contested division in the American League East, but they did something on Saturday that hasn't been done since 1986.
With Saturday's 1-0 victory over the Reds, the Rays are the first team to win two 1-0 games in their first 12 games of the season since the 1986 Kansas City Royals, and the first to have done so on the road since the 1973 Chicago Cubs, according to a tweet by Mark Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
The Rays are 4-2 on the road so far this season and will go for the sweep this afternoon against the Reds at 1:00pm ET. Starting lineups for the game will follow later this morning.
