Bolts’ Hedman “Everyone paid the price to win tonight”
This was the first Lightning win on home ice versus the L.A. Kings since February 6, 2007 but have gone 4-1-2 against them at the Times Forum over their past seven matchups.
“I think we were pretty upset about the way we played last game with the penalty kill. I think we really stepped up in being more aggressive in our own end, make sure we got pucks down deep and was a little more aggressive up in the gap. We just refocused and watched a lot of tape and go out there and make sure our penalty kill was the difference and it sure was. I thought we gained momentum off of that four minute kill and we took off,” Victor Hedman said.
The Lightning has outscored their opponents by a margin of 5-1 in the first period this season.
