Tampa Bay: One Final Bucs Draft Prediction

Lovie Smith
It’s hard to believe that the NFL Draft is finally about 24 hours away. With Lovie Smith in his first year as head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there is a lot of pressure on the organization to make the right decisions during draft day.

As we look ahead to tomorrow, let’s do one last prediction in regards to who the Bucs could draft in 2014.

For me, the pick at No. 7 is a toss up between a young, star quarterback and a quick wide receiver. But, if I were in Lovie’s shoes, I would make a pick that fits the team’s most pressing needs now. Picking a quarterback fills needs for the future, which is why I would select Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

Watkins is quick, he’s explosive, and he’s a real threat. Now, the question is, will Watkins still be available when Tampa Bay makes their selection? Who knows.

Another option at No. 7 would be wide receiver Mike Evans. We’ve heard this plenty of times. With the vision of current starting QB Josh McCown, Evans would fit perfectly. Once you pair him or Watkins with Vincent Jackson, the Bucs offense would be pretty solid.
