Ronnie Price Dunk [1]The Orlando Magic played a solid 48 minutes against the Detroit Pistons, which resulted in a 109-92 victory.

The Pistons have played very well on the road this season but the Magic limited them to 41.1 percent from the field. They outscored them in every quarter, which is very important for a young team that is looking for consistency throughout the entire game.

Some of the Magic’s losses this season have come from not performing as well as they would like in the third quarter. That was not the case Friday night against the Pistons. Not only did the Magic outscored them 30-18 but they also had eight assists, two blocked shots and two steals.

It’s not a surprise that the Magic’s leading scorer, Arron Afflalo led the team with 23 points. He scored 11 of his 23 points in the third quarter. This gave the team great momentum into the fourth quarter. Afflalo has scored 20 or more points in the last five games and is averaging a career high of 22 points per game.

In the month of December, Afflalo has scored in double digits in all 12 games. Eight of those games, he has scored 20 or more points including a career high of 43 points. So far, he is having the best year of his NBA career and has become a leader in the locker room and on the court.

Ronnie Price made the most of his minutes on the floor Friday night. He scored seven points and had two steals in just 4:31 minutes. He is a perfect example of a guy that stays ready at all times regardless of the situation.

Three Magic players ended the night with a double-double. Nikola Vucevic scored 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, Tobias Harris added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Rookie Victor Oladipo recorded his second career double-double by scoring 16 points and racking up a career high 11 assists. The last time three Magic players had a double-double in one game was on April 10, 2013.

The Magic will have practice on Saturday morning before hosting the Atlanta Hawks Sunday night at 6 p.m. ET.
