Steven Stamkos Progresses To Skating As He Recovers From Broken Leg

Lightning_Steven_Stamkos_2013Tampa Bay sports fans are becoming experts on their star players returning from injury. In 2012 Tampa Bay Rays all-star third baseman Evan Longoria missed significant time due to a hamstring injury.

In 2013 the team lost its ace pitcher David Price to an triceps strain, Alex Cobb was hit by a line drive and missed two months recovering from a concussion, and Matt Moore missed time due to an elbow strain.

The Tampa Bay Rays were able to keep their head above water even with the absences of their top players and the Lightning thus far have as well.

The Tampa Bay Lighting are awaiting their top player Steven Stamkos to return from suffering a broken leg. Just 33 days after breaking his right leg Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos returned to the ice during morning skate at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.

Afterwards he spoke to the media and credited medical advances with his quick return and noted that his 4-week x-ray came back with no problems.

From the teams VINE account here is a look at some simple stick handling work completed by Stamkos:
