In what seems to be another signal that the USMNT is picking up popularity, team captain Clint Dempsey made an appearance on the Late Night Show with David Letterman.
Dempsey was responsible for scoring two of the five goals for the U.S. in the Round of 16 against Belgium which ended with a loss in extra time. But it’s Dempsey’s broken nose that Letterman was asking about.
Dempsey broke his nose in the very first match against Ghana. He busted it so bad that the blood was spewing out to no end. There was eventually never a penalty on the play. It’s understandable why players drum up so much attention for penalties.
It’s refreshing to see the US interested in the Cup.
