According to false reports, Serey Die, a soccer player for the Ivory Coast, was crying before the start of the World Cup game against Colombia, because his father passed away just hours before the game.
It turns out, those rumors were false.
Die is a remarkable player and it seems that he just has a significant love for his country. There’s nothing wrong with that.
But, fans who heard of the false reports, still reached out to him via Twitter.
I have massive respect for Serey Die now. He played through it. — Brian Galeano (@TheBrian_) June 19, 2014

Watching Serey Die cry, it was painfully obvious he wasn’t just crying out of national pride or patriotism as everyone assumed
