Approximately 200 Chilean soccer fans stormed the media entrance at the World Cup this afternoon in an attempt to break into Maracana stadium. It happened less than an hour before Spain was to take on Chile, creating very scary scene for all involved.
Once inside, fans discovered the entrance did not lead to the stands, so they broke down a wall, sending lockers crashing to the ground. Fans smashed down a glass door and invaded the media workroom.
Security eventually got control of the situation and led the group away, with approximately 85 fans detained.
