U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said he knows striker Jozy Altidore can play today against Belgium but he doesn’t know how many minutes.
“We don’t know how much [he can play] … but he’s available,” Klinsmann said during a news conference in Salvador per ESPN. “It’s now difficult to say how many minutes.”
Altidore has been sidelined with a strained hamstring since June 16, when the U.S. defeated Ghana 2-1. He joined the team Monday for workouts after working separately with trainers in prior weeks.
The US Soccer team tweeted Monday that he is available and ready.
