Secrets to Winning MLBs Final Vote
MLB News: How to win the Final Vote
First: develop a marketing campaign:
The White Sox have rolled out the #TargetSale campaign, which is a clever play on words as this years game will be played at Target Field. This technique has worked three times before for the White Sox.
2005-the Sox brought laptops in the dugouts so players could vote for Scott Podsednik
2006-the infamous Punch AJ campaign was a hit following A.J. Pierzynski being punched in the face by Cubs catcher, Michael Barrett
2011-the #PaulStar campaign landed longtime White Sox captain Paul Konerko in the All Star game
Second: team up with a National League team who also has a player in the running for the Final Vote
Surprisingly for the White Sox, its not their cross-town rival the Chicago Cubs, who have 1B Anthony Rizzo in the running, but rather the Washington Nationals, who have 2B Anthony Rendon as a Final Vote candidate. This alignment with an NL team will generate thousands of out-of-market votes that may otherwise not have been cast.
Third: host a watch and vote party for your player
The White Sox will be doing just that at local Hooters restaurants as Chris Sale duels the Red Sox on Wednesday night. The Sox are also handing out #TargetSale t-shirts to fans who vote for him.
On top of these 3 techniques, having awesome stats will certainly help. Sale has certainly impressed with his 8-1 record and 2.16 ERA. He also has 96 strikeouts in just 87 1/3 innings over 13 games. It also doesnt hurt being previously selected to the last 2 All-Star Games!
So if you have not already voted for your favorite player, Id suggest you vote the Chicago Way: VOTE EARLY and VOTE OFTEN! as there is no limit on how many times you can vote. Voting for the Final Vote ends Thursday July 10th at 4pm EST.
