Seattle Seahawks Get Their Super Bowl Rings (Photos)
The Seattle Seahawks received their Super Bowl rings yesterday at a private ceremony in downtown Seattle, and as you can see, they look pretty sweet.
Designed by Tiffany & Co., they are made of white gold and feature a three-dimensional logo made of 64 diamonds, with a distinctive emerald-hue for the eye of the bird. Aside from the diamonds inside the logo, the Lombardi Trophy features a marquis-shaped diamond and is surrounding by a whopping 107 round diamonds of various sizes.
What makes this ring particularly unique, aside from the emerald diamond, is the band of forty blue sapphires surrounding the ring, adjoined by two “12” flags, representing the 12th man.
Other special features include the story of the championship season, including the team’s final 16-3 record on one of the shanks, images of CenturyLink Field, Mt. Rainer and the Seattle skyline, as well as 12 bands of feathers, just like Seattle’s uniforms.
The NFL gives an annual allowance of $5,000 per ring, with teams having the option to pick up additional costs.
