Ryan Dempster Says No To Royals' $26 Million
The Kansas City Royals sought to address a need for starting pitching by recently offering Ryan Dempster $26 million over two years, but the team has since dropped out after the bidding for the 35-year-old right-hander escalated, according to the Kansas City Star's Bob Dutton.
The Red Sox, Brewers and Angels are reportedly still in the market for Dempster's services.
Dempster went 12-8 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 153 strikeouts in 173 innings while making 28 starts in 2012, 16 for the Cubs and 12 for the Rangers.
