Report: Josh Freeman To Sign With Giants
Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that former Buccaneers and Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman is close to a deal with the Giants. Per Caplan, the deal is expected to be completed in the next day or so and Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports says it’s a done deal. Will Brinson of CBS Sports reports that he will backup Eli Manning.
After Freeman is signed, the best quarterbacks left in free agency are David Garrard, Rex Grossman, Brady Quinn, Seneca Wallace and Jimmy Clausen.
Freeman spent five years with the Bucs. He did well up to the 2013 season, totaling 4,065 passing yards in 2012. He tanked and went 0-3 to start off 2013 and the Bucs then placed him behind then-rookie quarterback Mike Glennon, and later was released.
At the Vikings, he appeared in and started one game only able to reach 190 passing yards.
Freeman was 1 of most intriguing NFL UFAs. How does guy go from showing so much promise to completely tanking & drawing such scant interest?
