Jameis Winston Caught Stealing Crab Legs
Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was issued a citation for shoplifting crab legs from Publix on Tuesday, Tomahawk Nation reports. No, he wasn't arrested, according to the Tallahassee Police Department. Only a civil citation. According to ESPN, Winston will be fined $30 and be suspended from the baseball team. He will also be required to do community service.
Per Tomahawk Nation a source says "he got an adult civil citation" and "if he completes the sanctions it will never show up on his record." Police commonly give them to juveniles on first criminal offenses. They are now doing it for minor misdemeanors for adults to lower crime rate.
Spoke to Winn Dixie, where we know Winston has purchased crab legs previously. Said you can pay for them while they are being steamed.— TomahawkNation.com (@TomahawkNation) April 30, 2014
So there is a chance that this was an honest mistake. Not saying it was, but if he's used to Winn Dixie procedure, it could be.— TomahawkNation.com (@TomahawkNation) April 30, 2014
The timing is interesting, almost laughable, given that the NCAA recently approved unlimited meals for student athletes.
He was also investigated last year for alleged rape, of which he was found not guilty.
There's all kinds of funny pictures going around on twitter now. Check them out. The best part is the bottom tweet. The crab legs were actually on sale from April 21st to the 30th (today).
