Report: Jadeveon Clowney Played Hurt At SC
Houston Texans linebacker Jadeveon Cloweney played hurt during his senior season at South Carolina, according to a report. Clowney underwent sports hernia surgery two weeks ago, which caused him to miss minicamp.
Clowney claims that the injury doesn't extend farther back than his time with the Texans, but his agent tells NFL.com otherwise.
"He thought about not participating in his pro day but went ahead anyway, and what a performance," Clowney's agent, Bus Cook, told the website. Cook says Clowney thought he had a groin injury.
The Texans said the injury happened recently when it was announced. The statement from the Texans seemed backed up by Clowney, who said "everything feels great" after being drafted No. 1 overall by Houston in May.
But when asked about the injury earlier this month, he said it happened before his arrival in Texas.
"Just when I got here, they wanted to check me out and I told them there was a little pain," Clowney said. "They were like we just don't want it to linger over into the season, so we got it taken care of before anything happened."
