Freeman had signed with the New York Giants earlier this offseason after starting quarterback Eli Manning underwent ankle surgery.
Manning returned to action rather quickly, and Freeman was released five weeks after signing, at the end of May.
Prior to that, he spent?13 weeks?of the 2013 season with the Minnesota Vikings, seeing action in one game, a 23-7 loss to the Giants.
At 26, Freeman still has plenty of gas left in the tank, but he's gone through three teams in eight months, meaning he may not get many chances to resurrect his career as a starter, if any.
