Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Mike James suffered an ankle injury against the Miami Dolphins Monday night and early reports indicate it does not look good.
A source told Ian Rapoport of NFL.com that James fractured his ankle and is out indefinitely.
James, a rookie out of Miami, suffered the injury on a 3-yard run with 9:54 remaining in the first quarter and was carted off the field.
Prior to leaving the game, James rushed for 41 yards on five carries. He left the Bucs locker room on crutches.
Last week the team placed starter Doug Martin on injured reserve with a torn labrum.
