Red Wings Goalie Jimmy Howard Injures Knee; Out For A Week
The Detroit Red Wings not only lost 4-1 to the St. Louis Blues on Monday night, but they also lost their primary goaltender Jimmy Howard for at least a week, who was also named to the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team.
Detroit coach Mike Babcock says Jonas Gustavsson will start in Howard's place Wednesday night against Chicago.
In regards to the Olympics, Howard insists he is not concerned about missing the Sochi Games.
Tampa Bay's Ben Bishop, who ranks among the NHL's best goalies this season, would likely replace Howard if he isn't healthy enough when the Americans have to set their final roster on Feb. 11.
