Red Wings Don’t Think Datsyuk Needs Surgery
The Detroit Red Wings season is over but the next run for the Stanley Cup largely depends on the health of Pavel Datsyuk.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the Red Wings don’t think that Datsyuk needs surgery on his knee. At least that’s what GM Ken Holland said.
It looks like he’s not having surgery,” Holland said. “At the end of the year, he had no pain, he wasn’t playing on painkillers. He’s going to stay in touch with doctors, but I don’t think he’s going to have surgery.”
Datsyuk spent the last half of the season dealing with an inflamed left knee. He said last week he had an MRI scheduled to determine if he’d need his knee surgically repaired.
