Rays Pull Hidden Ball Trick On Dodgers
There wasn't much to celebrate in Los Angeles this past weekend but there was at least one moment we can look back on and smile.
The Rays pulled off the rare hidden ball trick to record an out. In the bottom of the 4th inning the Dodgers had the bases loaded and A.J. Ellis hit a fly ball to Wil Myers in center field. Andre Ethier raced home to score as Juan Uribe advanced to 3rd and Skip Schumaker to 2nd base.
Myers throw came into the infield to cutoff man James Loney who threw the ball to Yunel Escobar. Without Uribe seeing Escobar tossed the ball over his head to Evan Longoria?behind him. Longoria patiently waited until Uribe's foot came off the bag to tag him out.
Truly one of the few light moments for the Rays on their recent road trip.
