Rays Fall To Orioles, 2-1
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Brian Matusz pitched effectively into the eighth inning and the Baltimore Orioles ended a six-game losing streak by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 Saturday.
Matusz (5-5) didn't give up a hit until the fifth inning. He permitted two hits in 7 1/3 innings, striking out seven and walking three.
The Orioles scored the go-ahead run in the seventh on a two-out throwing error by Drew Sutton.
Endy Chavez homered in the third off Jeremy Hellickson (4-2).
