Rangers Pick Up Shawn Tolleson After The Dodgers Dropped Him

Source: Aaron Gleeman, NBC Sports

TollesonAs teams do 40-man roster shuffling ahead of todays deadline to protect players from the Rule 5 draft the Dodgers dropped right-hander Shawn Tolleson and the Rangers claimed him off waivers.

Tolleson was sidelined by back and hip injuries for most of this season, but hes 25 years old with an incredible 1.34 ERA and 185 strikeouts in 128 innings as a minor leaguer and pitched reasonably well for the Dodgers as a rookie last season.

If healthy he seems likely to snag a setup job in Texas bullpen next year.
