Sunday Notes: Colby Lewis Set To Return To Rotation
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Texas Rangers right-hander Colby Lewis is scheduled Monday to make his first major league start in 21 months after elbow and hip surgeries.
Lewis will face Seattle in the opener of a three-game series.
His last start for the Rangers was July 18, 2012, before elbow surgery. He was still recovering from that last year when he had right hip resurfacing surgery.
The hip procedure was to remove bone spurs without a full hip replacement and the 34-year-old Lewis will be the first known major league pitcher to come back after such an operation.
