Bucs Running Back Bobby Rainey vs the Bills

On the second play from scrimmage, Bucs running back Bobby Rainey busted loose for an 80-yard touchdown, giving Tampa Bay its quickest touchdown in team history in just 18 seconds, and the longest run in team history.

And he hasn’t looked back.

At the halfway point of Sunday’s game against the Bills, the former undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky has 104 rushing yards on 13 carries, helping the Bucs to a 24-3 lead.

The Bucs added a second offensive touchdown in the first quarter on third-and-14 with a 38-yard touchdown throw from quarterback Mike Glennon to wide receiver Vincent Jackson, who has shown no real signs of a hamstring injury that limited him throughout the week in practice.

At the 12:28 mark in the second quarter, Johnthan Banks picked off Bills rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel, setting up a 53-yard field goal by kicker Rian Lindell.

The Bucs scored once again just before halftime with a 5-yard touchdown from Glennon to rookie tight end Tim Wright.

Glennon finished the first half 8 for 20, with 98 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. And what’s most impressive? He wasn’t sacked a single time by Buffalo’s top-ranked pass rush.

Manuel went 6 for 15 with 54 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. He was sacked four times.

Bucs linebacker Lavonte David already has a sack and an interception, the second time in his career that he’s recorded both in a single game.

The Bucs offense has outgained the Bills 218 to 70 total net yards, with C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson combining for 24 yards on nine carries.

Vincent Jackson’s three catches for 70 receiving yards now gives him 1,000 yards for the season for the third-consecutive year.
