NASCAR is in Las Vegas this weekend Saturday the Nationwide race will be the  Boyd Gaming 300 and then Sunday it will be the Sprint Cup race, the Kobalt 400. The mile and a half track in Las Vegas is always fast and with temps in the low to mid 70’s, no wind or even a slight chance for rain this should be a great weekend for racing.

Well, seeing as it is NASCAR in Las Vegas everyone is looking for some good bets. The No. 48 car of Jimmie Johnson has always done well in Vegas.  Five times, Johnson has logged his first win of a season during the first three races.

This week in Las Vegas the NASCAR teams will feature cars with new paint colors. [1]

This week in Las Vegas the NASCAR teams will feature cars with new paint colors.

After the first two races of 2014 in which Johnson has posted fifth- and sixth-place finishes and 100-plus driver ratings, the six-time champion heads to Vegas where he has a series-high four victories. Three of those victories came in three consecutive seasons (2005-07), with a fourth trip to Victory Lane in 2010.

Las Vegas native Kyle Busch is favored to win Saturday’s Nationwide Series Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday.

The bookies at William Hill posted new odds making Kyle, who is the all-time leader in NASCAR Nationwide Series victories with 64, is the 8-5 favorite to win Saturday’s race. However, he has never won the NASCAR Nationwide 300 Series race at his home track, although he was victorious in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Kobalt 400 in 2009.

Brad Keselowski is listed at 4-1. Matt Kenseth, who owns three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories at LVMS, is next at 9-2, and new Daytona 500 champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. is 7-1.
