New Secondary Logo is Evolved Version of Classic Mark Used from 1972-95
ATLANTA, GA -- Its back!
The Atlanta Hawks have today unveiled the clubs new secondary logo, an evolved interpretation of the iconic and classic team mark that was used from 1972-95 and is recognizable by NBA fans around the world.
The fierce new logo will make its worldwide debut tonight during the Hawks vs. Pacers First Round Game 6 contest at Philips Arena, as all fans in attendance will receive a red t-shirt featuring the logo.
While the teams primary logo will remain unchanged, the secondary mark will appear on Hawks clothing, caps and other fan gear and all will be available at the Hawks Shop at Philips Arena and at www.hawksshop.com this summer. Fans can sign up today at www.hawks.com to get exclusive pre-sale access to purchase the merchandise.
The Atlanta Hawks, a member of the National Basketball Association since 1968, strive to be champions on the court and in the community and to create lifelong memories along the way. On the court, the Hawks have reached the playoffs in seven consecutive seasons, which is the longest streak in the Eastern Conference. Off the court, the Hawks have awarded millions in charitable and in-kind contributions since 2004, including grants to area non-profits, scholarships for high school students and renovation of basketball courts in underserved neighborhoods. Philips Arena is consistently ranked among the top 10 concert and event venues in the world. In April 2009, Philips Arena became the first NBA arena to achieve LEED certification for an existing building as specified by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
