Pelicans top Magic in preseason opener
The New Orleans Pelicans’ Anthony Davis was the most dominate player on the court Wednesday night during the Orlando Magic’s preseason opener. The second year player finished the night with 29 points. The Pelicans controlled most of the game and beat the Magic 99-95.
Even though the Magic lost, the young players showed improvements from last year, which is a step in the right direction. Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic lead the Magic with 17 points and nine rebounds each.
Teammate, Victor Oladipo played well in his NBA debut. He scored 10 points, had four steals, five rebounds and nine assists in 24 minutes. While Maurice Harkless was dominate on the defensive end as he finished the game with 11 points, three blocks and two steals.
Offensively Andrew Nicholson’s game looked effortless and the Magic expect him to continue to improve throughout the preseason. He finished the night with 13 points and four rebounds.
The Magic will host its first preseason game on Oct. 11 against the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7 p.m. ET. They will also host the Memphis Grizzlies on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. ET, the Detroit Pistons on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. ET and the Pelicans on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. ET.

The Magic will start its 25th ‘Silver Season’ season on the road. They will face the Indiana Pacers (Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. ET) and Minnesota Timberwolves (Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. ET) before returning to the Amway for the season home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. ET.Pelicans top Magic in preseason opener by Mary Stevens
