Pelicans To Receive $4 Million Disabled Player Exception

With Ryan Anderson expected to miss so much time and possibly the rest of the regular season, it looks like the league is likely to grant New Orleans the Disabled Players’ Exception.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, the Pelicans would receive the exception, which can be used to sign or trade for a player, worth around $4 million.

New Orleans can essentially absorb a player’s contract, giving their trade partner some salary or luxury tax relief in the process.
