The Green Bay Packers have signed CB James Nixon to the active roster from the practice squad and in a subsequent move placed LB Robert Francois (Achilles) on injured reserve.
The transactions were announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Nixon, a 6-foot, 186-pound first-year player out of California University (Pa.), has been a member of the Packers’ practice squad for all four games this season and was also on Green Bay’s practice squad for the final 14 regular-season games and both playoff contests in 2012. He originally entered the NFL as a non-drafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in May 2012.
