Pacers Try To Avoid 0-2 Deficit vs. Magic
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Pacers didn’t expect to be in must-win mode heading into Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Orlando Magic.
That’s exactly where they find themselves after Saturday’s shocking 81-77 loss. The Pacers surrendered home-court advantage, even though Orlando’s best player, All-Star center Dwight Howard, is out for the season with a back injury. A loss Monday at home would put Indiana in bad shape heading to Orlando for two games.
Magic players, who say they never considered themselves underdogs, won’t be satisfied with a split.
The Pacers nearly won Game 1, but they went scoreless in the final 4:05. Indiana could have tied the game in the closing seconds, but Danny Granger, who had been dominant late in games throughout April, traveled.
