The team stressed in the announcement that the decision is precautionary and not related to his knee which required multiple surgeries last season.
Granger suffered the injury in a preseason game vs. the Bulls on Friday, October 18th and the team subsequently shut him down for the preseason. Last week they announced he would miss at least the first two games of the regular season.
