Orlando to host new Cure Bowl game: AAC Vs. Sun Belt
Expect official ?word this week from both the American Athletic Conference and the Sun Belt Conference that they face off in a yearly bowl game set to be played in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. ?The game will be known as the??Cure Bowl and it will benefit breast cancer-related charities and it will be played at a yet to be determined date in 2015 with ESPN airing the game.
That means the number of post season bowl games will grow to a record number of 40, with three of those games being hosted by Orlando (?Russell Athletic Bowl and Capital One Bowl)-- will increase the number of bowls in 2015 to a record 40, although that includes the College Football Playoff title game, so only 78 bowl teams will be needed fill out the bowl roster.
Good news for the American Conference, they have struck long term deals with a total of four new bowl with some very interesting locals for fans to enjoy.?Bahamas Bowl, in ?Nassau,?Miami Beach Bowl, at ?Marlins Park?and the?Boca Raton Bowl, at Florida Atlantic Stadium, all joining the Cure Bowl in Orlando.
It is also good news for the State of Florida which will host more post season bowl games than any other state in the country.
