The Orlando Magic introduced guard Evan Fournier Tuesday afternoon at the Amway Center. The 21-year-old shooting guard will join a very young Magic roster, which includes 10 players between the ages of 18-24.
The Denver Nuggets traded Evan Fournier and the 56th pick of the 2014 NBA Draft for Arron Afflalo. During Fournier’s time in Denver he says he was used as a stationary shooter but he hopes that changes in Orlando.
“I look forward to handling the ball a lot more in Orlando because that’s what I used to do in France, and that’s what I’m very good at. It’s great for me because I’m going to be able to show everyone what I can do with the ball,” said Fournier.
Fournier grew up in Saint-Maurice, a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France. The Frenchman will soon leave for Europe to start training with the French national team for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which will begin in Spain on Aug. 30.
