Orlando Magic drop match against OKC Thunder
The Orlando Magic dropped their match against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the last few minutes of the game in Day 2 of the Orlando Pro Summer League.
The Magic held the lead throughout the game but Oklahoma took charge in the last two minutes and walked away with a 78-79 win.
Magic guard Doron Lamb was very aggressive during the first half as he scored 12 points. In the second half, Lamb scored four points and had one assist. Lamb’s teammates said he has spent a lot of time in the gym over the summer improving his game.
Orlando Magic’s Summer League head coach James Borrego played his starting line up (Maurice Harkless, Andrew Nicholson, Kyle O’Quinn, Victor Oladipo and Doron Lamb) for most of the game. Romero Osby and Rodney McGruder were the only player off the bench with significant minutes.
Andrew Nicholson who struggled on Sunday, led the Magic with 19 points on Monday. Nicholson went 7-for-13 from the field while pulling down four rebounds and making three assists.
Rookie Victor Oladipo only shot 2-for-12 from the field but managed to rack up 12 points by getting to the free throw line. During the fourth quarter Oladipo tweaked his ankle but after the game he said his ankle was fine and he’s ready for tomorrow’s game.
The Magic will face the Miami Heat squad on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
