Orlando City Ends Regular Season at Home with a Win
Orlando City ended the regular season at home with a 1-0 victory over the Charlotte Eagles Saturday night. The starting lineup was missing regulars Rob Valentino and Luke Boden and even with the two left out of the game, Orlando was able to get the win under their belt.
Freddie Braun was the Lion to get Orlando up on the scoreboard. In the 49th minute, Braun found the back of the net after a multitude of deflections. He said that the team is going to ride the momentum from the win into the playoffs.
"Our next goal is to win the championship, plain and simple."
Even though the match wasn't the cleanest shooting wise for Orlando, with 26 shots total in the game and only one going in, head coach Adrian Heath said that the most important thing was that they won the game.
"If you look at the full 90 minutes of play we had majority of the ball; I thought the second half we played some good football."
The next game for Orlando City will be the quarterfinals taking place at home on Saturday, August 24th with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. The opponent for the quarterfinal could not be determined until the end of the Los Angeles and Rochester game.
