Ohio State QB Miller Questionable Against Cal
Ohio State is flying to California this weekend to take on the Cal Bears. If things fall in to place for them, the Buckeyes could be making a second trip out to California at the end of the year to play in the Rose Bowl, perhaps against Cals rival from Stanford. The Buckeyes have a bigger goal in mind of course but may have to go this weekend without their starting quarterback. Braxton Millers status for this weekends game at Cal is still unknown.
Miller left Ohio States home game against San Diego State early last weekend with what was later reported to be an MCL sprain. Urban Meyer said today in practice Miller participated but made an early exit to continue with some rehab.
He came out and got a little work, and then he went back in and did a bunch of rehab, Meyer said according to 97.1 The Fan reporter Lori Schmidt via Twitter. Hes going on the trip, and [Thursday] is going to be the day well find out how much hell play, Meyer added.
The Buckeyes should feel comfortable with their offense even if Miller is not available. Senior Kenny Guiton stepped in at quarterback last week following Millers exit. He completed 19 of 28 pass attempts for 152 yards and two touchdowns and he added another 83 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Meyer acknowledged it is a possibility Guiton gets the start this weekend, although he said earlier he is optimistic Miller will be available.
