Nine Miami Hurricanes football student-athletes spent part of Super Bowl Sunday assisting at the fourth annual JAFCO Bowl Flag Football Tournament at Flamingo Park.

The JAFCO Bowl is a flag football tournament organized by Jerry and Jake Sokol that raises funds for the organization JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options).

Denzel Perryman, Duke Johnson, Jon Feliciano, Rayshawn Jenkins, Nantambu-Akil Fentress, Garrison Lassiter, Ronald Regula, De’Andre Johnson and Sunny Odogwu along with Director of Player Development Ryan McNamee were on hand to share their support for the flag football players who came out to support the JAFCO Mission.

The JAFCO Mission is to care for abused, neglected and special needs children. When a child is removed from his family, he leaves behind what he has known and takes with him his fears, anger, hurt and insecurities.  JAFCO believes that every child deserves a safe and loving home.

The flag footballers were organized into four teams and were mentored by the Hurricanes:

Goon Squad = Denzel Perryman and De’Andre Johnson

DaSquad = Duke Johnson and Jon Feliciano

SD Crew = Rayshawn Jenkins and Ronald Regula

Nigerian Nightmares = Nantambu-Akil Fentress, Garrison Lassiter and Sunny Odogwu

Six games were played from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At halftime, the teams enjoyed some pizza and snacks before finishing the day. The Goon Squad were tabbed JAFCO Bowl Champs after defeating the SD Crew to cap off the flag football tournament.
