Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Sami Salo left the game Thursday evening with over 12 minutes left in the second period against the New York Islanders.

Salo had just returned to the lineup after missing two games with a lower body injury.

The Sun Sports telecast showed Salo on the bench with what looked like a nosebleed prior to him going to the dressing room.  The Lightning were leading the Islanders 1-0 at the time of the injury.

UPDATE: Salo returned from the locker room before the end of the second.
