HOUSTON — Texans quarterback Matt Schaub left Sunday’s 38-13 loss to the St. Louis Rams with what appeared to be a right ankle injury after being sacked by defensive end Chris Long late in the third quarter.
As Schaub limped off the field, a smattering of Texans fans began cheering. As Texans backup quarterback T.J. Yates entered the game, the cheers grew louder.
Although Houston faced a 31-6 deficit when he left the game, Schaub had completed 15 of 21 pass attempts for 186 yards and hadn’t thrown a touchdown or an interception.
