The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got in enough work over the last two days of minicamp that Coach Schiano decided it was time to have some fun.
The team cancelled the final day of minicamp practice and is headed to the movies this morning for some team bonding. The flick of choice? Zombie thriller, World War Z, starring Brad Pitt.
The movie doesn’t open in theaters until June 21, but players are being treated to an advance screening. The Green Bay Packers did the same thing last night.
It’s not uncommon for coaches to cancel the final day of practices to reward players for hard work, and in the case of the Buccaneers, it’s a good sign that the team is far enough along to be able to enjoy an off-day.
Update: Somehow this critical detail was omitted from the original report — the outing included an open snack bar. I’m told popcorn and Skittles were the most popular choices.
