The Tampa Bay Buccaneer defense went from surrendering 27 points to the Panthers last week to allowing just two field goals by the Bills Sunday. Cornerback Johnthan Banks talked about his interception and the importance of rebounding after a tough loss and what it meant to the Bucs defense.
“It was big. It gave us a lot of confidence on defense, not just defense — it gave me a lot of confidence, knowing I could trust these guys, knowing that we’re going to go out each week and play lights out.”
Banks had an interception in the second quarter when he undercut Bills wide receiver T.J. Graham on a dig route, returning it to the 41-yard line and setting up a 53-yard field goal by kicker Rian Lindell.
“It was huge. Last week was embarrassing. This game was really what the Bucs are about. Our offense struggled a little bit but I think we played great as a team.”
