Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David talks about a crucial third-down conversion by the San Francisco 49ers that set up a 21-yard field goal by kicker Phil Dawson and ate 10:27 off the clock and derailed Tampa Bay’s hopes of a comeback.
On second-and-18, quarterback Colin Kaepernick hit fullback Bruce Miller over the middle for a 6-yard pickup before escaping pressure on third-and-12 and finding wide receiver Michael Crabtree for a 14-yard completion.
“It was all on us,” David said of Kaepernick. “We got him of the pocket. We had a guy chasing him. He slipped out of the tackle. He’s a great athlete. Like I said, I think that long stride helps him out. He made a great throw on the run.”
