Tampa, FL- A league source tells SportstalkFlorida that a contract offer has been made by the National Football League to select replacement officials to work throughout the 2012 regular season.
The source says that this is “a unique and exciting opportunity for the next six months at the very least.”
Despite facing harsh media criticism during the preseason, the league believes that the replacement officials are doing “an adequate job and they will get better with more experience.”
There are no details on how many of the replacements will be offered contracts.
