Revis Denies Reports, All Is Well on Revis Island

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis wants everyone to know that all is well on Revis Island and that he is happy to be a Buccaneer…he’s just frustrated like everyone else with the team starting the season 0-2.

The All-Pro corner took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to deny a story from Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports saying he was unhappy playing for head coach Greg Schiano with his strict rules.

Revis took it a step further by meeting with Schiano for 15 minutes yesterday at One Buc Place to ‘clear the air,’ according to Andrea Kremer. Revis was at the facility receiving treatment on the team’s off day.

Revis, 28, was traded to the Bucs this offseason after six seasons with the New York Jets playing for Rex Ryan, who is generally regarded as looser and more player-friendly than Schiano.

Garafolo also reported that Revis, regarded as the best man-coverage cornerback in the league, is unhappy with the amount of zone coverage he’s being asked to play in Tampa.

This story comes just two days after Jason La Canfora of CBS reported that Josh Freeman was at odds with Greg Schiano and would seek a trade before the October trade deadline.

Schiano and Freeman have both denied the CBS report, although stories from multiple outlets about two players certainly make this interesting.

Of course the positive in all this is, Revis took the initiative to talk it out with Schiano on an off day, showing he remains committed and recognizes his role as a leader on the team.
