No. 2 Overall Pick Joeckel Signs With Jaguars

Luke Joeckel, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft, has officially signed his rookie deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced Saturday evening.

Details of the contract were not immediately available.

A premier left tackle out of Texas A&M where he started every game of his college career, Joeckel had many analysts convinced he’d be the top pick in this year’s draft.

Instead, it was Eric Fisher selected first overall.

Joeckel is the highest drafted player to sign his rookie deal so far. He is expected to start at right tackle for the Jaguars this season.

He is the fifth member of the Jaguars’ draft class to sign, with safety Josh Evans, wide receiver Ace Sanders, and Denard Robinson being the only players who have not yet signed.
